BAKED CHICKEN PARMESAN RECIPE

Ingredients:

3 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 Eggs, whisked
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 c Panko or Italian bread crumbs
1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
2 c marinara or spaghetti sauce
6-8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced about 1/8 inch thick

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 212 degrees C or 415 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray on a baking sheet.

Step 3: Slice into two, horizontally the chicken breasts. You should make 6 fillets.

Step 4: Put the fillets in a ziplock and gently pound them to flatten to about 1/4-inch thick.

Step 5: In a small mixing bowl, add the egg, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.

Step 6: In another mixing bowl, add the bread crumbs, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until well mixed.

Step 7: Dip each chicken fillet into the egg mixture, then into the bread crumbs. Make sure to coat them well.

Step 8: Arrange the chicken fillets into the prepared pan.

Step 9: Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Make sure to turn the chicken fillets halfway through to cook the other side.

Step 10: Remove the chicken fillets from the oven and spoon 1/4 cup of the sauce over and top it with 1 slice of Mozzarella cheese.

Step 11: Put it back inside the oven and bake for 3 to 5 more minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.

Step 12: Remove from the oven and sprinkle oregano or basil on top.

Step 13: Serve and enjoy!

Note:

You can serve this dish with spaghetti or angel hair pasta.
